Some Plant Paintings.

From my show on container gardening.
The window box features boxwood bushes, lily of the valley, pansies, and sweet potato vines.
Above features an apple tree, dahlias, anemones, and hostas.

My favorite was this maple tree in a claw foot bathtub.

Gallery Show at Chapterhouse.

So after toiling over making as many new pieces as possible in a short amount of time, my show is being hung tonight, and the opening reception is tomorrow night! The show also features work by Drew Falchetta and will be up from July 8th to sometime through October.

The show is at Chapterhouse Cafe and Gallery
620 South 9th Street Philadelphia, PA 19147-2028 -
Friday July 8th, 2011. At 7pm

My work for the show is concentrating mostly on urban gardening in containers and found objects, and features portraits of numerous trees, bushes, and flowers. To me gardening in containers is challenging, but it is a nice release to be able to turn my concrete patio into a mini forest, and I know many gardeners share the same feeling. Walking around the city I always check out all of the window boxes, tubs, ceramic pots, and other objects that are full of various kinds of foliage. I thought it would be perfect to make a series of paintings for people who also have a green thumb in this concrete jungle.
